چکیده

Objectives: Patients undergoing anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction have been shown to be at risk for postoperative arthrofibrosis. Diagnostic biomarkers associated with development of stiffness are unknown. The objective this study is identify found in the synovial fluid time surgery that arthrofibrosis a cohort patients Methods: were prospectively enrolled. Synovial was collected OR prior surgical incision. A requiring manipulation under anesthesia or lysis adhesions identified. Matching case controls performed using 1:2 pair matching algorithm. Clinical factor-adjusted single biomarker and multivariable models used assess association MUA/LOA. Results: total 11 (n = 3 male, n 8 female) ACLR met inclusion criteria, matched 21 6 15 no significant differences age, sex, smoking history, days from injury surgery. Levels RANTES significantly higher cases versus (694.20 [214.75 - 3428.79] vs. 113.04 [32.81 517.91]; p=0.034). IL-IRA, bFGF, greatest predictive value by final stepwise logistic regression model. Independent predictors increased after included (OR [95% CI]) (2.28 [1.29 – 5.37]; p=0.019) bFGF (1.91 [1.07 3.99]; p=0.047) according Only statistically predictor developing (2.59 [1.26-9.07]; p=0.046). Conclusions: Higher concentrations ACLR. IL-6, VEGF, TIMP1, IL-1RA, MMP3, MCP-1, MIPB not

Plasma B-type natriuretic peptide levels predict postoperative atrial fibrillation in patients undergoing cardiac surgery.

BACKGROUND Postoperative (postop) atrial fibrillation (AF) occurs in up to 60% of patients after cardiac surgery, leading to longer hospital stays and increased healthcare costs. Recently, B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) has been reported to predict occurrence of nonpostoperative AF. This study evaluates whether elevated preoperative (preop) plasma BNP levels predict the occurrence of postop A...
